Montréal Planetarium on the cover of SABmag magazine
The Fall 2015 edition of SABmag (Sustainable Architecture and Building Magazine) featured a cover article about the Montréal Planetarium project completed by the architect consortium of Ædifica and Cardin Ramirez Julien.
The article, written by architect Marc Chenouda, presents an overview of the principles that guided the construction of the astronomy museum. From the initial objective to the choice of materials and to detailed descriptions of the facilities, the author’s depiction is complete and underscores the building’s efficiency. For instance, Chenouda notes that 85% of the existing structure was retained in the reconstruction. He further explains that seasonal climatic variations were incorporated in the design in order to minimize energy losses in summer and winter.
In short, the article brilliantly captures the immense thought the project teams invested in this undertaking.Learn more about the Planetarium project.
