Double WELL and LEED Platinum certification for Ædifica offices
4 February, 2026
Ædifica is proud to announce that its offices, located at 407 McGill in Montreal, have obtained WELL Platinum and LEED Platinum certifications, the highest levels of recognition for occupant health and well-being and building environmental performance.
Ædifica was responsible for the entire design of the project, seamlessly integrating architecture and interior design, electromechanical engineering, sustainable development strategies, and the implementation of an integrated design process (IDP). This cross-functional approach optimized the quality of the interior environments, occupant comfort, energy efficiency, and responsible material selection.
This project is a concrete illustration of Ædifica's vision of sustainable and responsible architecture, where human well-being, technical rigor, and reducing the environmental footprint are inseparable, right in the heart of downtown Montreal.
« This double certification reflects our belief that environmental performance and occupant well-being must go hand in hand. Our offices are a living laboratory that demonstrates how it is possible to combine technical rigor, human comfort, and environmental responsibility while creating inspiring work environments. »
« Obtaining WELL and LEED Platinum certifications is the result of close collaboration between the architecture, design, and engineering teams. It demonstrates that an integrated approach, based on rigorous technical choices and a clear vision, makes it possible to achieve high levels of performance while meeting the real needs of occupants. »
A sustainable, integrated, and high-performance approach
At Ædifica, sustainable development and energy performance are part of our DNA. As pioneers in integrating sustainable practices into architecture and engineering, we design projects where environmental performance, technical rigor, and quality of living environments are inseparable.
Our approach is based on integrated design, bringing together architecture, design, electromechanical engineering, and expertise in sustainable development from the earliest stages of the project. This synergy allows us to optimize energy performance, reduce environmental footprint, and ensure the comfort and well-being of occupants.
We support our clients in implementing sustainable strategies tailored to each project, whether in energy efficiency, responsible resource management, or design that promotes the health and resilience of buildings. Our teams are proficient in the main standards, including LEED, WELL, Fitwel, BCZ, Envision, True, and Sites, which they integrate in a consistent and pragmatic manner.
Through each project, Ædifica demonstrates that sustainable, high-performance, and people-centered architecture is not an option, but a responsibility—and a core value of our practice.
Noteworthy sustainable development projects at Ædifica
For over 35 years, we have been integrating sustainable development principles into all our projects, whether residential, commercial, institutional, or even neighborhood-wide, in order to create healthy, efficient, and environmentally friendly living environments.
Here are some of our flagship sustainability projects:
- Val-Martin Revitalization, Laval: Eco-friendly development of a site combining social housing and a community center aiming for LEED v4 Gold certification, LEED for Neighborhood Development (Plan) Gold certification, illustrating our sustainable approach at the neighborhood and building level.
- First LEED-certified buildings in Quebec: Ædifica contributed to the revitalization of the Technopôle Angus site, including the restoration of the Locoshop Angus, the CLSC Rosemont, and 4100 Molson, one of the first LEED CS Gold buildings in the province.
- Le Huppé – WELL Gold Certified (Architecture: PMA architects): First WELL Gold multifamily building in Canada, demonstrating our expertise in occupant well-being and health in the residential sector.
- Ædifica Offices – Dual LEED & WELL Platinum certification: Our own premises at 407 McGill, Montreal, are a concrete example of our expertise: high-performance, sustainable spaces focused on the well-being of occupants.
- Carbon neutrality and global initiatives: Ædifica has been carbon neutral since 2020 and continues to reduce its environmental footprint through energy efficiency strategies and climate offset projects.
