Inauguration of the Espace Françoise Sullivan, Espace Danse du Wilder
The Espace Danse du Wilder dance space opened its doors to the public in February. The firms Ædifica and Lapointe Magne, Architectes, the project’s lead, were invited to attend the first public performance at the Espace Françoise Sullivan. Choreographer Mélanie Demers had the honour of inaugurating the exciting new venue.
Ædifica was invited to the event together with artists and journalists.
As of June, the building will house the new offices of the Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal; meanwhile l’Agora de la danse and Tangente have already set up theirs.
The offices of Quebec’s Ministry of Culture and Communications and the Quebec Arts Council as well as Montreal’s contemporary dance school, l’École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, will occupy the top floors of this iconic building.
Aedifica is proud to have contributed to this major project, which included the rehabilitation and expansion of the Wilder, a 10-storey heritage industrial building erected in 1918.Back to list
