Ædifica: partner of the new ÉTS Research Chair
Last week, the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) announced the launch of the new Industrial Research Chair in Digital Technologies for Construction 4.0. Represented by Souha Tahrani, Ædifica was proud to join the event and announce its commitment to the Research Group for the next 5 years.
The work of this new Chair is in line with the work of the Pomerleau Industrial Research Chair on the integration of practices and technologies under construction, which ended in December 2017, and of which Ædifica was also a member.
In 2017, the Chair submitted a manifesto to the Ministry of Economy, Science and Innovation (MESI) to include the construction industry in the digital shift program. This action led the department to grant Groupe Bim Québec a mandate associated with a budget of $11 million over five years to support the industry in the digital shift.
The context of the construction market has therefore changed, which has required some adjustments in the Chair's orientations. The latter is intended to represent the entire ecosystem of construction stakeholders. It brings together 11 partners, including representatives of Ædifica. One of the objectives of the Chair is to bring together all the stakeholders to identify the issues facing the industry in its transition to digital.
Finally, this new Chair is one more voice in addition to the Multisectoral Table to influence the orientations and government actions that guide our industry.
