Nespresso
Services
Workplace DesignOur team at Ædifica is proud of its collaboration with Nespresso, a major player in the coffee industry. Faced with the need for extensive deployment and footprint consolidation, Nespresso sought a global strategic approach. This enduring partnership has enabled Ædifica to become a key player in Nespresso's expansion and evolution in Canada.

Our firm developed a national implementation plan that facilitated the deployment of various applications, from pop-up shops to urban concept stores, across the country. Ten retail applications were delivered under this program. Our role was essential in adapting Nespresso's European team's design standards to national codes and local specificities, ensuring the brand's sleek, warm aesthetic was faithfully represented. Our services covered site analysis, preliminary and construction drawings, project management, construction assistance, design coordination, and site supervision. This support has been provided from 2017 to the present.

In parallel with this national deployment, we designed Nespresso's new head office in Montreal, inaugurated in 2017. Spanning 2,787 m², this interior fit-out includes office and relaxation areas, a state-of-the-art tasting lab, and the first Nespresso Academy in North America for personalized training. The concept highlights the brand image, connection with the city and Mount Royal, and generous natural light. Discreet and luminous furniture was chosen for open areas, accommodating 157 workstations, with a sober design emphasizing product presentation. This new work environment set the tone for future Nespresso installations on the North American continent.

Beyond these foundational projects, our team has played a key role in the continuous local adaptation of Nespresso boutique designs in Canada, including the renovation of the iconic Crescent Street boutique in collaboration with Universal Design Studio, incorporating Montreal-inspired materials and counters made from recycled coffee grounds. Our firm also completed the interior design of other Nespresso Canada offices, a 30,000 sq ft project finished in 2016. These achievements illustrate our ability to bring Nespresso's architectural identity to life in Canada, acting as a trusted partner to establish the brand within its national ecosystem and adapt international concepts to local specificities, while integrating sustainable and aesthetic elements.
