Our team at Ædifica had the privilege of collaborating with the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) to reinvent the workspaces of the Service de l’enseignement coopératif (SEC) and the Service des technologies de l’information (STI), located on the 4th and 5th floors of the Maison des étudiants. This large-scale design project aimed to transform a conventional office environment into a dynamic, stimulating, and elegant collaborative space. The main objective was to create an open-plan, flexible, and organized area that promotes a functional and intuitive daily flow for ÉTS employees.

The vision of our design was articulated around enhancing the intrinsic qualities of the site, leveraging the abundant natural light and the existing noble and raw materials. For the STI, we designed a unified space for its four departments, cleverly divided by multifunctional conference rooms that promote both cohesion and privacy. For the SEC, a double circulation system was implemented to optimize flows, with an interior facade featuring varied materials that rhythm the space and break the monotony. Interview rooms with distinct color identities offer welcoming and personalized environments.

Our transdisciplinary approach, combining the expertise of our architects, interior designers, and BIM specialists, enabled precise design and efficient coordination. The use of Revit for the STI optimized the process. Close collaboration with ÉTS was essential to understand their specific needs and create a space truly adapted to their culture.

The result of this project is a transformed work environment where collaboration is encouraged, employee well-being is valued, and efficiency is optimized. The improved acoustics, increased natural light, and flexibility of the spaces contribute to a more pleasant and productive workplace. This project demonstrates Ædifica's ability to create spaces that not only meet functional requirements but also inspire and support our clients' activities.
