CLSC Rosemont - LEED-NC, argent certification

Technopôle Angus, Montréal, Canada

Located in Rosemont and associated with the CSSS Lucille-Teasdale, the CLSC Rosemont is the first CLSC (local community service centre) in Québec with a LEED certification, more specifically LEED-NC Silver, in addition to being certified BOMA Best Level 3. In charge of the CLSC’s architectural design, Ædifica made conceptual choices to ensure the building is healthy and sustainable. Outside, a green parking lot with pervious block pavers reduces the heat island effect and creates a more pleasant environment. Inside, the generous openings foster occupant comfort and well-being while efficiently managing the building’s energy consumption. The architectural and environmental quality of the CLSC, which took only a year to build, required sustainable and efficient strategies: selection of low-VOC emissions finishes, electro-mechanical systems that ensure the thermal comfort and generate over 30% in energy savings, rigorous site and construction waste management, etc. The new building is part of Technopôle Angus, an ecological complex whose LEED-ND Gold (phase 1) certification was managed by Ædifica in 2008.
