Our team at Ædifica was pleased to design an innovative Desjardins service centre at the strategic corner of Peel and Sainte-Catherine streets, in the heart of downtown Montreal. Our mandate aimed to transform the traditional banking experience into a customer interaction comparable to retail, creating a welcoming meeting place for members and an attractive showcase for acquiring new clients.

Inspired by retail design, we conceived large storefront windows that highlight the various financial service areas, presented like product offerings. The space is open, bright, and transparent, punctuated by light hues and a warm feel thanks to the use of wood. The user journey, organized over two levels, guides visitors through the different financial solutions offered, with welcoming reception areas and semi-private meeting spaces ensuring confidentiality.

The experience is enriched by a captivating digital artwork, "RIVER," which reacts to the ambient sound and pedestrian activity, creating a dynamic link with the city. A vertical green wall, a central biophilic element, unifies the two levels and contributes to the well-being of occupants. The integration of a Desjardins-specific aromatherapy adds a unique multisensory dimension to the experience.

This project illustrates our expertise in creating innovative service spaces that emphasize the customer experience. By drawing inspiration from retail best practices and integrating artistic and biophilic elements, we designed a Desjardins service centre that stands out for its welcoming, transparent, and engaging approach.
