This project involves the complete renovation of the building envelope and the upgrading of its exterior components to ensure the durability, performance, and longevity of this residential building.

The Office municipal d'habitation de Laval commissioned Ædifica to review the scope of the work with a view to optimizing costs while preserving the architectural quality of the project. The work includes reducing and simplifying the privacy screens on the balconies, optimizing the window frames, and streamlining the guardrails by using standard steel systems. A sober, standard color is now preferred for all of these elements. On the ground floor, metal privacy screens are being replaced by plant screens, promoting better landscape integration while reducing ground work.

This approach reflects the shared desire of the client and the project team to reconcile budgetary constraints, technical performance, and the quality of the built environment for the benefit of residents and the community.
