Le Huppé
Services
Sustainability and energy efficiencyDesigned by PMA Architects, Ædifica was mandated to accompany the client through the entire WELL certification process, supporting the various stakeholders in the design and implementation of the various strategies related to the health and well-being of occupants. This project thus becomes the first multi-residential building to obtain WELL Gold certification in Canada.
Le Huppé, located in Quebec City, marks a bold step forward in Canadian residential real estate. It’s not just another building; it’s the first multi-residential complex in the country to achieve the prestigious WELL Gold certification, a hallmark of quality for the health and well-being of its residents.

Our team of sustainable development experts was central to this achievement, collaborating closely with the PMA Architects team, a long-standing partner, to integrate the strict principles of WELL certification. This approach transformed Le Huppé into a living space that places residents at the heart of its concerns, emphasizing air and water quality, abundant natural light, thermal and acoustic comfort, and the promotion of an active, community-oriented lifestyle.
Biophilic design, inspired by nature, is another distinctive feature of Le Huppé. Organic materials and views of the surrounding natural environment create a soothing and regenerative atmosphere. The communal spaces are designed to encourage social interactions, fostering a strong sense of community.
The WELL Gold certification, managed by Green Building Certification Inc. (GBCI), is rigorous. It evaluates ten key concepts, ranging from air and water quality to community spirit and innovation. Le Huppé excelled in all these areas, thanks to meticulous design and the developer’s commitment to sustainability.
The benefits of living in a WELL-certified building are numerous: improved health and enhanced well-being, greater resident satisfaction, and a strong brand image for the developer. Le Huppé demonstrates that it's possible to create living spaces that are not only beautiful and functional, but also healthy and sustainable.
This project is an inspiring example of what the future of residential construction could be: buildings that care for their occupants and the environment.
