Since the establishment of the first Spanish retailer's Zara boutique in Canada in 2000, at Place Montréal Trust, Montreal, our team at Ædifica has been a key partner in the brand's rapid expansion across North America. We have built more than 60 Zara stores, totaling 800,000 square feet, including several prestigious locations. The main challenge was to adapt Zara's original design to various spaces, whether in shopping centers or on main streets, while maintaining a consistent brand image.

Our project vision for each store revolves around four guiding principles: beauty, clarity, functionality, and eco-responsibility. We emphasize simplicity to facilitate direct and privileged contact with customers.

Ædifica has developed an adaptable design prototype that adjusts to the specific configuration of each store. For the Zara store at Dix30 in Brossard, opened in March 2015, we transformed an existing building into a 28,500 sq. ft. two-story space. The exterior facades were carefully integrated to respect Zara's brand image and received CCU approval.

At 700 Michigan North in Chicago, Ædifica contributed to the redevelopment and renovation of the entire shopping mall. Our expertise allowed us to redefine the brand image by reconfiguring the commercial deployment and majorly renovating the first four stories. For the 666 Fifth Avenue store in New York, opened in 2012, we implemented the "flagship" concept for what was then the largest Zara store in the United States, spanning 39,000 sq. ft..

Our methodology encompasses concept development, preparation of architectural and electromechanical plans and specifications, interior design, façade design, and base building. As project manager, Ædifica directed construction work and coordinated all professionals for major projects.

Ædifica's contribution is measured by the successful completion of over 60 Zara projects, demonstrating our ability to manage complex challenges and deliver tailored solutions. The success of these stores, often located in prestigious complexes, strengthens Zara's presence and enhances our reputation in the retail sector.
