Place Saint-Henri, once a dynamic center, has become primarily a transit point. This project aims to restore its former purpose, focusing on equitable and safe space-sharing, improved connectivity to its surroundings, and the integration of a new community building. The goal is to create a place of community ownership, where users feel welcomed and valued.

The development concept revolves around a central square, designed as a multifunctional space. It will serve to animate the public space while ensuring its function as a connector between different interfaces. The design integrates mobility and urban planning challenges into a cohesive and innovative concept, reflecting the expectations of citizens and stakeholders.

The design process was thorough and participatory. It began with an in-depth territorial assessment, followed by public consultations with local organizations and citizens. The results were translated into challenges, objectives, and a development program, covering aspects such as real estate development, public transit, active mobility, safety, and place animation.

Our firm's multidisciplinary expertise, combining urban planning, development, landscape architecture, urban design, and public consultation, was crucial to the project's success. We were able to realize the Place Saint-Henri development vision by considering the site's history, characteristics, and citizen aspirations.

The master plan proposes an integrated development concept that will transform Place Saint-Henri into a community-owned space. The development promotes sustainable mobility, improves conditions for active transportation, and encourages social and community development. The aim is to create an inclusive public space where everyone feels at home.
