saq signatureQUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC, CANADA
In carrying out a complete overhaul of its Signature store, the SAQ wanted to create the best possible environment to promote the discovery of exclusive, rare and prestigious wines...a catalyst for the relationship between advisors and wine enthusiasts. The inspiration for the design is a castle wine cellar, but updated to the 21st century. With this in mind, the construction uses modern techniques such as steel joists, wooden beams, metal trellises and concrete slabs, while the decor uses traditional, indigenous materials such as granite, slate and elm. This is a cellar with an authentic yet contemporary look, built to house viticultural treasures for decades and to welcome, in a simple manner, wine lovers and those with a delicate palate.
