National Blood Transfusion Centre (Port-au-Prince)Port-au-Prince, Haïti
Following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Ædifica joined forces to support the community in rebuilding the country. Over the past 10 years, the collective has developed a rich collaboration with Haitian professionals and communities. Our goal is to restore human dignity to the communities with buildings that respect their needs and rights as Haitians and citizens of the world.
In 2019, Ædifica + ÆdificaSud has given back to the Haitian community new facilities that improve the living conditions of its users, including the National Blood Transfusion Centre (NBTC) and the Specialized Analysis Laboratory (SAL) in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In 2018, the Haitian Red Cross (HRC) and the American Red Cross (ARC) entrusted the design and supervision for this new medical building to Ædifica + ÆdificaSud and Société de Génie Conseil S.A.
The NBTC-SAL project aims to respond to a vital need for the Haitian population, i. e. the collection and donation of blood products. It provides an entire community with a place to collect blood and its components, prepare, store, distribute and deliver blood products, as well as analyze them.
