Planetarium Rio Tinto AlcanMONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC, CANADA
The new Planetarium will join company with the three other Montréal Nature Museums at the Olympic Park: the Biodome, the Botanical Gardens and the Insectarium. A true oasis of greenery in the middle of asphalt surroundings, it will meet LEED Platinum standards, which are among the strictest in the field of green construction. Emerging from a green roof, two huge cannons pointing skywards will bring to mind observation instruments, such as telescopes, scrutinizing the universe. At the foot of these cannons, spheres representing the stars will house the two star theatres. The most recent advances in multimedia technology will provide visitors with an immersive astronomical experience that will give them the feeling of being in direct contact with the sky.
